@ How to Enjoy Music Programming
The
KX-101
is equipped
with a Music Programming function which lets you program tunes
according to the musical score.
In this manual, the functions shown in the illustration below are explained item by item.
Please read these items in the correct order so that you will be able to quickly and easily
understand the many functions of your KX-101.

One Key Play
* Melodies and countermelodies can be input with the channel set either to POLY or MONO.
Using both POLY and MONO channels, a maximum of 4 notes (4-voice polyphonic) can be
input simultaneously.

@ Programming Tunes
Programming is performed independently
for the three channels: Melody
(MONO), counter-
melody (POLY) and chords (CHORD). You can use any programming order you like.

The melody
is input to either the POLY or the MONO
channel. When entering the melody,
other musical data such as the sound (tone color), repetition symbols etc. are also input.

(Correction
When entering the pitch, mistakes in pitch, tone color, unison data or repeat symbols can be
corrected and data deleted, inserted or added using the forward button ( '& ) and the back
button ().
© Duration of the notes
After the pitch of the notes has been entered according to the musical score, the durations of
the notes can be added, using the white keys above which duration symbols (such as J or ,) )
are written for input.
@Rests
The rests occurring in the musical score ( ? , 7 , etc.) can be input when entering the dura-
tions of the notes by pressing the black keys with the appropriate rest symbols written above
them.
