Battery (Optional YA-B10) Precautions

*
Battery Precautions
 Observe the precautions below. Failure to do so can cause the battery to explode
or leak flammable liquid or gas.
 Do not burn a battery or dispose of it in an incinerator, or by mechanical crushing or cutting.
 Do not subject a battery to excessively high or low temperatures during use, storage, or
transport.
 Do not subject a battery to excessively low barometric pressure during use, storage, or
transport.

Charging Precautions

 Charge a battery in a location whose ambient temperature is between 10°C and 30°C (50°F to
86°F).
Charging may take longer, or full charging may not be possible under temperatures outside of this
range.
 Charging may not be possible if the ambient temperature and battery temperature is too high or too
low. If this happens, remove the AC adapter from the battery and place the battery in a location
whose ambient temperature is between 10°C and 30°C (50°F to 86°F) for a while, and then try
charging in that location.
 A battery that has not been charged for a very long time (about six months) may take longer than
usual to charge. Charging will stop automatically if a battery has not become fully charged after
about six hours of charging.

Precautions When Using a Battery

 Due to battery characteristics, a charged battery will provide less operating time under cold
temperatures than it provides under normal temperatures.
 Do not break or remove the outer label of a battery.
 If a battery goes dead very shortly after it is charged, it probably means that the battery has reached
the end of its service life. If this happens, purchase a new battery.
 Do not connect two batteries to each other.

Precautions During Battery Storage

 Keep batteries out of areas subjected to high temperatures and humidity. Store them in a cool
place.
 To prevent over-discharge, charge a battery to a charge level of 60-41% at least once every six
months. For details about charge levels, see "Indicator During Charging" (page 31).
 You may not be able to get a battery to start charging if it has not been charged for a long time
(about six months). If this happens, contact your original retailer or a CASIO Service Center.
 If a battery is not used for approximately 1.5 months, it will automatically go into a low-power mode.
A battery will not supply power while in the low-power mode. Charging the battery will exit its low-
power mode and allow it to supply power.
 A battery deteriorates over time. The pace of the deterioration depends on ambient temperature
and the charge state of the battery. In particular, a fully charged battery that is left in a hot
environment tends to deteriorate more rapidly, regardless of whether it is being stored or used
there.
