Configuring Fibre Channel Interfaces

Task Flow for Migrating Interfaces from Shared Mode to Dedicated Mode

To configure the Fibre Channel switching modules when starting with the default configuration or when
migrating from shared rate mode to dedicated rate mode, perform these steps:
Step 1
Take unused interfaces out of service to release resources for other interfaces, if necessary.

Step 2
Configure the traffic speed to use (1 Gbps, 2 Gbps, 4 Gbps, 8 Gbps, or autosensing with a maximum of 2 Gbps or 4
Gbps).

Configure the rate mode (dedicated or shared).

Configure the port mode.

Note

To configure the Fibre Channel switching modules migrating from dedicated rate mode to shared rate mode,
perform these steps:
