CHASE key
When pressed, the LCD screen indicates
"CHASE," asking you which of machines 2 to 6
you wish to chase machine 1.
If, for example, you press 2 on the keypad,
machine 2 will then be autolocated to the same
time point as machine 1.
For more information, see "6-8 Synchronizing Multiple
PCM-800s".
For other digital audio machines to be chased, the
optional DABK-801 Sync Board need be installed
into machine 1.
MACHINE key
When pressed, "Select" appears in the LOCATE
TIME window, and you can use the numeric
keypad to specify which machine will be
controlled from the RM-D800. You can select. only
one machine at a time.
TC REC key
Lets time code be recorded in the subcode area of
the tape loaded on machine 1 as it is generated
from the optional DABK-801 Interface Board
installed into machine 1. Any DABK-801 installed
into other machines (2 to 6) cannot be used to this
effect.
This key is also used to copy time code at the same
time as digital data from one PCM-800 to another
PCM-800.
For more information, see page 6-22.
REPEAT key
Lets the selected machine play the portion between
the START and END memory points repeatedly.
START and END keys
Pressing START after having pressed STR puts the
current LOCATE TIME (which you may have
. entered with the V key on the fly or with the
numenic keys) into memory as. the start point of
repeat play. Likewise, pressing END after having
pressed STR specifies the end point of your repeat
play.
You can recall the start/end point into the LOCATE
TIME window by first pressing RCL then pressing
START/END.
Then you can finely adjust that time with the UP
and DOWN keys. Pressing LOC locates the tape to
the start or to the end point (whichever is currently
displayed); so you can monitor that point to check
for accuracy.
Pressing REPEAT lets the tape play repeatedly
between the START and END points.
AUTO PLAY key
Causes the machine currently under remote control
to start playing automatically each time it is
autolocated to any time point shown in the
LOCATE TIME window.
© PRE, POST, IN, and OUT key
PRE and POST: The desired pre- and postroll
times for punch-in recording can be entered into
the LOCATE TIME window with the numeric
keys. Then pressing PRE/POST after having.
pressed STR stores that time into the PRE/POST
memory.
The PRE and POST times require the unit of
frame. Enter 00 in the F (frame) window (e.g. to
enter 3 seconds, press 3, 0, 0).
IN and OUT: You do not need to go through the
Rehearsal setting procedure (page 6-14 ) if you
know in advance the exact time points where tracks
should punch in and out of record. You can enter
these points with the numeric keys then press IN/
OUT after having pressed STR to store them into
memory as the punch-in/out point.
The IN and OUT points can also be used as
independent autolocating points.
