Machine selection
You can connect any VTR following the 9-pin serial protocol.
First, check to see that your VTR is turned off.
Then, connect the RS-422 connector on the VTR to the remote EXT 3
connector.
RM-D800
Press MACHINE. Then press 9 on the keypad.
"E3" will light up in the MACHINE window, and the LCD screen will
read:
Ext 3 Cont. Mode
Split
In the Split mode you can put the PCM-800 into the record mode from
the RM-D800 while your VTR is also controlled from the RM-D800
except for the record function and record keys. -
If you do not need this function, press + or -. The "Split" will change
to "Normal".
Notes for both in split and normal modes
* Once an IN or OUT point has been stored, if you press IN or OUT,
the corresponding indicator will light up in the MEMORY POINT
window and that point is read into the LOCATE TIME from
memory.
¢ If, when no MEMORY NO. is displayed, you press CUE STR
during play, the TAPE TIME display at that moment is stored into
the lowest memory register available.
If a MEMORY NO. is displayed, say "O02" for example, the capture]
time is stored into the "03" memory register.
* You can jog the VTR from the RM-D800 but at a maximum of
normal play speed.
* Settings at the "Locate Preroll" menu are effective on the VTR as
well.
