The column hatch lifting mechanism is sup-
ported by a gas spring which makes it easy to
lift. However, the hatch needs to be pushed
fully open to get the gas spring to hold the
hatch in an open position.
Make sure that the hatch is in the fully open
(top) position before commencing any work
within the EB Column compartment. When
closing the hatch, it should be supported by
hand.
