Removing and Installing the Steering Wheel

1. Carefully remove the steering wheel cover from the steering wheel.
2. Remove the locknut and flat washer that secure the steering wheel to the
steering control valve or steering shaft.
3. Use a suitable puller to remove the steering wheel from the steering control
valve or steering shaft.
4. Remove the foam collar.
5. Apply a small amount of anti-seize lubricant to the splines of the steering
control valve or steering shaft, then install the foam collar and the steering
wheel.
6. Secure the steering wheel to the steering control valve or steering shaft
with the flat washer and lock nut. Tighten the lock nut from 28 to 35 N·m
(20 to 26 ft-lb).
7. Install the steering wheel cover.
