OfficeServ 7400
TECHNICAL MANUAL
connected to the GPLIM Ethernet port, these devices no longer need the AC power
adapter.
SPECIFICATIONS
• The GPLIM can be installed in any universal slot of any OS7400 cabinet.
• The GPLIM CANNOT be installed in the OS7200 expansion cabinet.
Add as many GPLIM's as needed.
Refer to the GPLIM Users Manual for further installation and configuration details.
PLEASE NOTE: The GPLIM module uses the -48V rail from the OS7400 power supply
to provide power to connected devices over Ethernet. The OS7400 power supply
provides up to 6600mA of output current. PER EACH OS7400 CABINET (not per
system), the SUM of all current drawn from 1) devices powered by PLIM cards, 2)
digital key sets connected to DLI ports 3) analog devices connected to SLI ports
4) devices powered by the GPLIM's 5) the GWIM, GSIM and GPLIM cards
themselves cannot exceed 6600mA.
manual for a listing of individual component current draw ratings.
IF ADDING GPLIM CONNECTED DEVICES CAUSES THE TOTAL CURRENT DRAWN
TO EXCEED 6600mA PER CABINET (not per system), THEN YOU MUST CONNECT
THE OS 7150 EXTERNAL PoE POWER SUPPLY MODULE to the cabinet. This unit
can provide additional power to PoE devices connected to PLIM's and GPLIM's when
the OS7400 power supply limits have been exceeded.
CONNECTING THE OS 7150 EXTERNAL PoE PSU SUPPLEMENTAL POWER SUPPLY
for further information.
It is important to note that the OS 7150 can only provide additional power to the PLIM,
GPLIM, GWIM and GSIM. The OS 7150 is used when the GSIM, GWIM or PoE devices
connected to GPLIM/PLIM causes the total current draw per cabinet to exceed
6600mA. It does not provide power to DLI ports, MWSLI ports and other system
interface cards.
To force the GPLIM to get power from the external OfficeServ 7150 PoE unit, you must
connect shunt pins 2 and 3 for each jumper J1, J2, J3 and J4 (EXT setting). Shunt pins
1 and 2 are connected at factory default (this setting causes the GPLIM to get power
from the internal OS7400 power supply).
