Cutting Unit Maintenance

Pivoting (Tilting) the Center
Mower Deck to the Upright
Position
Note:
Although not needed, you can pivot (tilt) the
center mower deck.
1.
Raise the center mower deck slightly off the
floor, set the parking brake, and shut off the
engine, and remove the key.

Remove the hairpin cotter securing the dampers
to lift arms

Pivot the damper toward the deck housing.
4.
Remove the hairpin cotter and clevis pin
securing the height-of-cut chains to the rear of
the mower deck

Start the engine and slowly raise the center
mower deck.
6.
Slowly raise each side cutting until the center of
gravity shifts and the deck starts to rotate into
the upright position.
7.
Shut off the engine and remove the ignition key.

Pivoting the Center Mower
Deck Down
1.
Slowly lower the wing mower decks until the
center of gravity shifts and the center mower
deck rotates downward.
2.
Sit on the seat, start the engine, and lower the
center mower deck until it is slightly off the floor.
3.
Shut off the engine, wait for all parts to stop
moving, and remove the key.
4.
Secure the height-of-cut chains to the rear of
the mower deck.
5.
Pivot the dampers upward into position and
secure with a clevis pin and cotter pin.
