OPERATOR MAINTENANCE
Operator maintenance includes such preven ­
tive main tenance as normal checking, cleaning,
operating considerations, etc., performed period ­
ically on a routine scheduled basis. The purpose
of the maintenance is to keep the console in the
best operating condition, thereby reducing the
possibility of downtime.
The following list is a general guide to opera ­
tor maintenance:
o Always plug the console into a 3-wire
grounded outlet.
o Ensure that all covers are closed and
secured during operation.
o Avoid leaning or placing objects on any
part of the console.
o Turn power OFF when the device is not in
use.
o No beverage should be on or near the
console.
o No food should be on or near the console.
o Keep outside covers clean and free of
debris.
o Clean and dust, as necessary, the inside
areas accessible to the operator.

TERISTICS
Table 10-2 is a summary of the specifications
and characteristics of the DKU9101 CRT Key­
board Console.
INTERCONNECTION/SYSTEM INTERFACE
The CRT Keyboard Console Attachment con­
sists of a device controller, console adapter, and a
console compatible peripheral. Figure 10-4 illus­
trates the structure of the subsystem and its
relationship to the system.

The device controller is a microprogrammed
peripheral controller which attaches to the Level
6 Megabus and is capable of supporting up to four
devices via a configurable series of adapters.
Device-specific functionality is provided by the
adapter and certain device-specific firmware in
the device controller.
