CONTROL PANEL
This section describes the general operating
considerations of the Level 6 central processor's
control panel (see Figure 2-1). Physical descrip­
tion as well as applicable preventive maintenance
are also discussed.
The Level 6 central processor is a solid state
general purpose minicomputer that provides ex ­
tensive system building capabilities and efficient
real time handling of communications or control
problems. The central processor is a state-of-the ­
art device, open-ended, powerful, and flexible.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
The central processor control panel is designed
for the following operator actions:
o Applying and removing of system power
o Starting/stopping the central processor
o Entering
and
displaying
registers
and
memory
o Initiating various central processor states
The configuration of the central processor
operator's panel includes the following functional
elements:
o Power switch
o Control panel key lock
o Status indicator lights
o Register displays
o Register keys (hexadecimal pad)
In this manual the control keys will be
referred to by their function, with the initial or
significant letter of the key legend underlined:
e.g., Load, Plus 1, Read. To illustrate the associa ­
tion of the control key with its function, Figure
2-2 shows a close-up view of the control panel
area.
