Logic box (see Figure 7-8). This logic card is not
to be used by the operator; it is intended for
Honeywell field service use only. The opera tor
should check the card only to ensure that the
switch is set in the up position as it may be
inadvertently set to the down position resulting in
a printer fault condition.
In addition to the main controls, there are
mechanical controls and mechanical adjustments
directly related to the control of printing and
paper feeding located on the printer mechanism
that are discussed (see Figures 7-7 and 7-8).

system control. Depression of the
pushbutton alternately places the
printer in the online and offline
modes.
Following
initial
power-up,
the
printer will be offline and the indi
cator will not be illuminated.
This
pushbutton,
when
pressed,
causes paper to advance to the next
line. The button is disabled when the
printer is in the online mode (i.e.,
when the ON/OFF LINE indicator is
lit).
When
pressed,
this
pushbutton
causes paper to move to the top of
the next form (page). This control is
disabled when the printer is in the
online mode (i.e., when the ON/OFF
LINE indicator is lit).
A momentary toggle switch that
controls the positioning of paper
while power is on. Switch is used in
conjunction with the PAPER AD
VANCE COARSE and PAPER AD
VANCE FINE adjustments.
A two-position toggle switch that
selects either six or eight lines per
inch spacing.
When lit indicates a failure in the
electrical circuits which control the
printing of characters. This indicator
lights
in
conjunction
with
the
ALARM indicator, and causes the
printer to enter the offline mode
(with the ON/OFF LINE indicator
not lit).
When lit indicates that the paper
forms are not moving in proper
synchronization. This fault condition
may occur as a result of failure in the
printer logic, or because paper was
adjusted vertically without the pro
per actuation of the FORMS RESET
switch.
The FORMAT indicator lights in
conjunction with the ALARM indi
cator.

This is both a pushbutton and an
indicator.
The ALARM indicator lights to indi
cate that a fault condition exists. If
the specific fault condition has an
associated fault indicator, that indi
cator will be illuminated in conjunc
tion with the ALARM indicator.
The ALARM indicator will also light
in conjunction with the READY
indicator if the PRINT INHIBIT
switch (on the logic card) has inad
vertently been moved from its nor
mal (up) position.
The ALARM indicator will also light
if the print drum is not revolving at
its proper speed.
Depression of the ALARM push
button will, in most cases, clear the
fault conditions.
The ALARM indicator will also light
if a "paper runaway" condition
occurs (i.e., paper won't stop mov
ing) or if the paper feed mechanism
jams or if the belt breaks).
CLEAR will illuminate when none of
these conditions exist.
Lights to indicate that dc voltages
and ac power have been applied to
the printer.
When lit, indicates that the printer is
ready for online operation.
Both a pushbutton and an indicator.
The indicator lights when the printer
is in the online mode and under
