4. Follow the instructions on your computer screen to install the program.
Before you can use the SUU, you must connect your HRDVS to your PC using a serial null
modem RS-232 cable (supplied with your unit). This is not a standard serial cable.
Note If you want to make your own cable, see
assignment.
1. Connect one end of the null modem cable to the COM1 or COM2 serial port on your
PC.
2. Connect the other end of the null modem cable to Text Insertion Port on the back of
your HRDVS unit.
To set up the HRDVS to use the SUU, go to the Download Software screen: Main Setup
➤ ➤
Install Service Download Software.
The Download Software screen must display before you can use the Software Update Utility
to download new software to the HRDVS unit.
