Live Monitoring

Rev 2.00
The HRDVS has a video output and an audio output. By hooking up a video monitor and
an amplified speaker to these outputs the signals from your camera(s) and microphone
can be monitored live. The audio level from the output is the standard audio level put out
by a consumer VCR. You can control the level by the volume controls of a speaker with a
built-in amplifier.
Note
For local operation, recording stops when you enter Program mode to
change system setup configurations or to play back video.
Note
If you are monitoring a black and white camera and you enter the
programming menus, the screens will appear black and white. Similarly, if
you are monitoring a color camera, when you enter the programming menus
the screens will appear in color.
Note
When recording is enabled, text will not be displayed on the monitor (text
overlay).
You can also use the HRDVS as a duplex recorder remotely to play back images without
stopping recording. Enable Dualstream in the Remote Access screen (Main Setup
Install
Service
Remote Access) to allow the RAS software to play back video clips
on a PC while the HRDVS is recording. For more information on remote operation, see
Enabling Remote
Access, page 38.
This chapter describes how to use the HRDVS locally to:
Start and stop recording
Record timelapse clips
Recording event clips
Monitor live video recording
This chapter also describes event handling, viewing system information, and viewing
