Setting Up Text Ports

Rev 2.00
The HRDVS has a single physical text insertion port located on the rear panel of the unit.
This single physical EIA-232 text input port can accommodate text data from up to four
individual devices after the data has multiplexed by external means.
The HRDVS uses a text string/camera correlation technique to map the text to be
displayed with the associated video. See
information.
Note
When recording is enabled, text data will not be displayed on the
monitor. Text data will continue to be stored provided you have
programmed the HRDVS to do so.
If you are connecting to an external text device for the first time,
disable recording to display incoming text. This allows you to verify
that the communications and cable connections are correct.
