4. The standard 230 volt ac and USB sockets
allow simultaneous operation of multiple
devices. Simply plug the 230 volt ac appliance
into the inverter's main ac socket and/or plug
the USB powered device into the inverter's
USB socket and operate normally.
IMPORTANT: If the Power/Fault Indicator
flashes, a fault has occurred. Refer to the
Protective features section and the
Troubleshooting section of this instruction
manual.
Notes:
Ensure that the wattage of all equipment
simultaneously plugged into the inverter does not
exceed 500 watts continuous.
This inverter's USB socket does not support data
communication. It only provides 5 volts/500mA DC
power to an external USB-powered device.
5. To turn the inverter off, switch off the on/off
button and disconnect it from the 12 volt DC
power source.
IMPORTANT: Remember to disconnect the inverter
from any power source when it is not in use.
Connection to load
The power inverter is equipped with a standard
mains socket. Plug the cord from the equipment
you wish to operate into the mains socket. Make
sure that the load requirement of your equipment
does not exceed 100 or 500 watts (depending on
the type of dc connection).
The appliance is engineered to be connected
directly to standard electrical and electronic
equipment in the manner described above. Do not
connect the inverter to household ac wiring. Do not
connect the inverter to any ac load circuit in which
the neutral conductor is connected to ground (earth)
or to the negative of the dc (battery) source.
Warning! Do not connect to ac wiring.
HINTS FOR OPTIMUM USE
For best operating results, the inverter should be
placed on a flat and/or solid surface. The inverter
should only be used in locations that meet the
following criteria:
DRY – Do not allow water or other liquids to come
into contact with the inverter.
COOL – The surrounding air temperature should
be between 5°C and 40°C. Keep the inverter away
from direct sunlight, when possible.
WELL VENTILATED – Keep the area surrounding
the inverter clear to ensure free air circulation.
Do not place items on or over the inverter during
operation. The inverter will shut down if the internal

temperature gets too hot. Refer to the Protective
features section of this instruction manual for more
information.
SAFE – Do not use the inverter near flammable
materials or in any location that may accumulate
flammable fumes or gases. This is an electrical
appliance that can briefly spark when electrical
connections are made or broken.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Common Audio/Visual Problems
Buzzing Sound In Audio Systems
Some inexpensive stereo systems make a buzzing
sound when operated from an inverter because
the power supply in the electronic device does not
properly filter the modified sine wave. The only
solution to this problem is to use a sound system
that has a higher quality power supply.
Television Interference
The inverter is shielded to minimize interference
with television signals. However, in some instances,
interference may still occur, particularly where
television signals are weak. Try the following
corrective measures:
• Place the inverter as far as possible from the
television, the aerial or cables. Use an extension
cable, if necessary.
• Readjust the orientation of the inverter, the
aerial or cables and the television power cord to
minimize interference.
• Make sure the aerial or cable feeding the
television provides an adequate ("snow free")
signal and that high quality, shielded aerial or
cable is used.
• Do not use the inverter to operate high-power
appliances or tools at the same time you are using
it to operate the television.
Common Power Output Problems
If the inverter on/off switch has been pressed to turn
the unit on, but there is no ac or USB power output
and the power/fault LED is not lit:
• Press the on/off switch to turn the unit off.
• Check that the tightness of the dc connections.
• Check the fuse in the dc vehicle power cord plug.
If the inverter on/off switch has been pressed to turn
the unit on, but there is no ac or USB power output
and the power/fault LED flashes, then one of the
following conditions has occurred:
• Low battery voltage.
6
ENGLISH
• Over voltage.
• Short circuit.
• Overload.
• Over temperature.
Press the on/off switch to turn the inverter off,
correct the fault and then press the on/off switch
again to turn the inverter back on.
MAINTENANCE
From time to time wipe the outside casing of the
inverter with a damp cloth. Do not use any abrasive
or solvent-based cleaner. Do not immerse the
inverter in water.
Warning! Before performing any maintenance or
cleaning on the inverter, disconnect it from any
power source.
Replacing the fuse in the dc vehicle
power cord plug
• Remove the gold cap by turning it counter
clockwise.
• Remove the centre pin and the spring.
• Remove the fuse.
• Fit a new fuse of the same type and size
(12A/250V).
• Install the centre pin and spring.
• Install the gold cap by turning clockwise onto the
plug. Do not overtighten.
PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
Correct disposal of this product
This marking indicates that this product should not
be disposed with other household wastes
throughout the EU. To prevent possible harm to the
environment or human health from uncontrolled
waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote
the sustainable reuse of material resources. To
return your used device, please use the return and
collection systems or contact the retailer where the
product was purchased.
They can take this product for
environmentally safe recycling.
Separate collection of used products and packaging
allows materials to be recycled and used again.
Re-use of recycled materials
helps prevent environmental pollution and
reduces the demand for raw materials.
Local regulations may provide for separate
collection of electrical products from the household,
at municipal waste sites or by the retailer when you
purchase a new product.
