9.9 Display of the IO device assignments in STEP 7
Always perform both load operations after configuration changes to the IE/PB LINK HA: First
configuration of the R/H-CPUs and then configuration of the IE/PB LINK HA. In this way, you
make sure that the configuration data in the IE/PB LINK HA and in the R/H-system are
identical.
If the configuration data is not identical, the diagnostics alarm "Wrong configuration, the
configuration cannot be applied" is shown in the diagnostics buffer of the R/H-CPU.
In rare cases, the generic diagnostics alarm "Diagnostics available and is being processed" is
displayed. If this generic diagnostics alarm is present, you need to read the specific error text
out of the diagnostic buffer of the IE/PB LINK HA with the NCM S7 diagnostics tool.
1. In the project tree, select the "Online & diagnostics" of the IE/PB LINK HA.
2. Select the "Start special diagnostics" button in the dialog. Result: NCM S7 diagnostics starts
and reads out the diagnostic buffer of the IE/PB LINK HA.
Loading multiple IE/PB LINKs HA
You can see the IE/PB LINKs HA in your project in the STEP 7 network view. If you want to load
the configuration of several IE/PB LINKs HA at once, follow these steps:
1. Select the required IE/PB LINKs HA in the network view.
2. In the toolbar, click on "Download to device".
Result: STEP 7 loads the configuration of the selected IE/PB LINKs HA into the respective
devices.
Note
Loading multiple IE/PB LINKs HA via the project tree is not supported.

Introduction
In the STEP 7 "I/O communication" view, you can display the IO device assignments and
change the operating mode of the IO devices.
Procedure
To access the "I/O communication" view, follow these steps:
1. In the network view of STEP 7, select the redundant system.
2. In the tabular view of the network view switch to "I/O communication".
