Setting Serial COM LED Mode
The behavior of the radio's
the Device Settings Menu (Figure 42 above). By default, the LEDs show

1. To select the LED Mode, access the Device Settings Menu and

COM LED Mode
available choices.
2. When the desired selection is displayed, press the

Viewing/Setting Radio Mode
The radio can operate in one of three modes as explained in"Operating
Modes and Applicable Manuals" on Page 5. The available selections
are: Packet, x710, and Transparent. To view or change the current oper-
ating mode, access the Device Settings Menu (see Figure 42 above). The
radio mode is displayed on this menu. To change the mode, follow these
steps:
1. Select
from the menu. A flashing cursor appears in the
Radio Mode
field to the right of the item.
2. Press the spacebar until the desired operating mode is displayed.

Setting the User Interface Type
The Device Settings Menu contains the parameter
