IRQ Assignments

The following IRQ assignments are made automatically by the BIOS during the boot
process. The presence of these assignments triggers the NOS to enable the APIC
(Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller) mode within its own environment, taking
advantage of this expanded set of non-conflicting IRQs. The automatic IRQ assignments
used by the NOS are listed in Table 12-3 and cannot be changed.
NOTE The Setup Utility (BIOS) provides the ability to manually set
IRQs, but all these assignments are ignored by the following
NOSs; Microsoft NT 4.0, Novell NetWare 5, and SCO
UnixWare 7.
