Installing and Removing DIMMs

The BIOS automatically detects, sizes, and initializes the memory array,
depending on the type, size, and speed of the installed DIMMs. It reports the
memory size and allocation to the system through the configuration registers.
DIMMs reside in the Processor/Memory Complex and are accessible inside the
server chassis. To remove or install DIMMs you need to access the complex and
follow the installation order and groupings required for the DIMMs. It is not
necessary to remove the memory board from the complex.
