3.12.4.3 Connecting the Monitoring Network Cable

Connecting the RS485 Monitoring Network Cable (Modbus-RTU Protocol)
When monitoring smart cooling products over northbound RS485, the EMS needs 3 seconds
to collect data from one smart cooling product. Therefore, the time required for collecting
data from N smart cooling products in a group is 3 x N. If the data collection time is longer
than the performance requirement, you can divide the smart cooling products into several
groups. For example, if the EMS needs to finish data collection in 12 seconds, you are advised
to group smart cooling products by four and connect the COM port of the main control
module of the first smart cooling product in each group to the RS485 port of the EMS.
Step 1 Make the COM network cable by referring to
Figure 3-43 Pin sequence of network cable
Step 2 Group smart cooling products for monitoring based on performance requirements and connect
the monitoring network cables.
Issue 02 (2019-10-10)
Except for pins 4 and 5, the cable of other pins must be cut off to prevent interference.
If there is no teamwork control, connect the COM port on each smart cooling product to
the customer's monitoring system.
In CAN networking and no grouping, connect the COM/FE port on the last smart
cooling product to the monitoring device, as shown in
the device, set the "RS485 monitoring grouping" of the last smart cooling product to
"Enable". Setting path: Settings > Comm Settings > Modbus Settings.
