Preparing to Use the
Machine
1.
Park the machine on a level surface and
disconnect the machine from the tow vehicle.
2.
Ensure that all guards and paddles are in place
and in good condition.
3.
Perform all daily maintenance procedures
prescribed in
Maintenance (page
4.
Chock the front and back of the tires to prevent
the machine from moving.
5.
For end-dump models, lower the front and rear
stabilizer legs; refer to
Legs (page
22).
6.
Move the drum to the upright position and lock it.
Lowering the Stabilizer
Legs
End-Dump Models Only
End-dump models have a front stabilizer leg and
2 rear stabilizer legs to keep the machine from
tipping forward or backward during operation. Move
the stabilizer legs into the lowered position before
operating the machine.
1.
Pull the clevis pin out from 1 stabilizer leg and
the bracket

Slide the stabilizer leg down in the bracket and
align the pin hole of the bracket with the upper
hole in the stabilizer leg

Push the clevis pin through the hole in the
bracket and the stabilizer leg

Repeat steps

Lift upward on the tongue to provide clearance
for the front stabilizer leg.

Pull the clevis pin out from the front stabilizer leg
and the tongue

2. Rotate the stabilizer leg
down.
7.
Rotate the front stabilizer leg down toward the
ground

Push the clevis pin through the front hole in the
tongue and the front stabilizer leg
and carefully lower the machine to the ground.
