Lubrication
Before performing any maintenance or lubrication services, follow the
Lockout/Tagout procedure in the Safety Instructions chapter to ensure that the
equipment is safe to work on. Failure to follow these instructions may result in
serious personal injury and/or equipment damage.
3.6.1 Motors and Carrier Rollers
All motors and carrier rollers are equipped with sealed bearings. No additional
lubrication is required for motors and carrier rollers.
3.6.2 Reducers
The standard gear reducer used on the Pallet Accuglide conveyor is a Dodge
Quantis RHB unit. These gear reducers are normally provided with Mobilgear 600
XP 220 mineral oil and filled at the proper level from the factory (refer to the
nameplate on the gear reducer to verify).
A breather vent is required and located on the top of the case near the output shaft
(visible through the inspection slot). Periodically, check the oil level. It should be at
the bottom of the level plug, which is located on the motor side of the reducer, near
the input shaft centerline. The initial factory mineral oil fill is good for operation up to
10,000 hours or 3 years of service, whichever comes first, in normal environments.
