3.2.3.3 Primary Mode Selection (Wx, WxA, VP, MAP)
A. Observe the existing mode indicated on the display (see

3.2.3.4 Range Selection
A. Momentarily press the RANGE increase pushbutton to increase the maximum range dis-
played by one increment, (e.g., 20 to 40).
B. Observe that the range selected is shown in the upper right corner of the display and along
the last range mark.
C. Observe that the distance to each of the other three range marks is shown at the right side of
each concentric range circle.
D. To decrease the maximum range displayed, momentarily press the RANGE decrease button.
E. Repeat Step A or D as necessary to obtain the desired range.
3.2.3.5 Track Position
A. Press and hold the TRACK left button and a yellow track line will appear. The position of the
track line in degrees relative to the nose of the aircraft is displayed in the upper left corner of
the screen. As the button is held down the line will move to the left in 1

C. If neither button has been pressed for 15 seconds, the track line will disappear.
D. In the Vertical Profile mode, if the unit is so equipped, the Profiled "slice" will be taken at the

If the function selector is placed in the ON position
during the warm-up period, the display will be stan-
dard black with a white or blue growing signal until
the 80 NM range, as the radar sweeps the black is
stripped away. Just before the system is ready to
fire, the display will turn completely black again for a
couple of seconds. Weather will now be displayed
and the system is operational.
When the indicator is first turned ON, the Wx mode
is displayed.
Display erases completely and rewrites on the newly
selected range.
