KHF 1050 SYSTEM INSTALLATION MANUAL
1.
Ensure that the coaxial connections at the KPA 1052
are correct. J10526 (Transmitter Input) should connect
to the KRX 1053 Receiver Exciter. J10527 on the KPA
1052 (Transmitter Output) on the KPA 1052 should
connect to the KAC 1052 Antenna Coupler.
2.
Check the connections to each unit having an
associated error condition.
3.
Verify that 28 VDC power is being applied to each unit
and that the voltage is steady.
4.
Ensure the integrity of each coaxial cable in the
system and verify that each is connected to the proper
connectors.
1.
Press the PTT switch once to clear the tune fault, then
press the PTT switch again to start another tune cycle.
2.
Repeat Step 1 for up to a total of 3 tune cycles.
3.
If unit fails to tune the antenna after 3 attempts, select
a different frequency and try to retune the antenna at
the new frequency.
4.
Turn the KHF 1050 system off and check the coaxial
cable connections between the KAC 1052 and the
antenna feedpoint.
5.
Ensure that there is no evidence of arcing in the
connectors, antenna feed-through insulator or at the
antenna.
6.
Check the antenna. If it is a grounded antenna, verify
that the DC resistance to ground is very low. If it is an
open wire antenna, verify that the resistance to ground
is very high. Refer to the bonding information in
