Hardware Requirements

NFC functionality is hardware dependent and only available on Dolphin 75e models ending with the letter N (e.g., 70exxN).
Use only NFC compatible replacement battery doors with NFC equipped Dolphin models.

Security Recommendation

NFC functionality is enabled by default on Dolphin 75e models ending with the letter N (e.g., 75exxN). The recommended
setting for NFC functionality is disabled until the feature is required. Enabling NFC allows data exchanges between the
terminal and other NFC devices or tags.

NFC Settings

Enabling or Disabling NFC Functionality
1. Touch All Apps
2. Touch More.
3. Touch the switch button next to NFC to turn Off
Enabling the Android Beam
Android Beam functionality is only available if NFC is enabled.
1. Touch All Apps
2. Touch More.
3. Verify NFC functionality is turned On
4. Touch Android Beam and select the switch button to turn beam functionality On
Selecting the Default ISO-DEP Route for Card Emulation Mode
The Default ISO-DEP route setting for card emulation mode is only available if NFC is enabled.
1. Touch All Apps
2. Touch More.
3. Verify NFC functionality is turned On
4. Touch Select Default ISO-DEP route.
5. Choose either Device Host or eSE2.
Note: Select eSE2 for reading MIFARE

Reading NFC Tags

1. Verify NFC is enabled (see page 7-3).
2. If reading MIFARE Classic tags, verify eSE2 is selected as the Default ISO-DEP route.
3. Hold the NFC tag close to the back of the terminal. When an NFC tag is recognized, the terminal emits a sound and the
tag data displays on the terminal screen.
Note: The terminal must be unlocked for NFC tag detection. If sound is muted, the terminal vibrates when an NFC tag is
detected.
