Server Features
Diagnostics Utility
The Diagnostics Utility displays information about the server's hardware and
tests the system to be sure that it is operating properly. If you used ProLiant
Essentials to install your operating system, you can access the Diagnostics Utility
from the ProLiant Essentials Foundation Pack.
Automatic Server Recovery-2 (ASR-2)
ASR-2 enables the server to boot automatically from either the operating system
or from HP utilities. If a critical system failure occurs, ASR-2 automatically
restarts the server and can be configured to page a designated system
administrator.
Integrated Management Log (IML)
The IML provides a detailed log of key system events. This log also monitors the
server health log and is accessible from Insight Manager 7 and the Remote
Insight Lights-Out Edition II (RILOE II) option.
NOTE: The ProLiant DL580 Generation 2 server no longer supports the first-generation
RILOE board option.
Multi-Initiator Configuration Utility
The Multi-Initiator Configuration Utility enables administrators to configure the
Integrated Dual Channel Ultra3 SCSI controller for support of HP storage and
clustering options.
For more detailed information about these tools and utilities, refer to Chapter 10,
"Server Configuration and Utilities," the ProLiant Essentials Foundation Pack, or the
Documentation CD that ships with the server.
