Checking t he c hain l ubrication
Never w ork w ith t he c hain s aw w ithout s ufficient c hain l ubri -­
ca tion. O therwise t he s ervice l ife o f t he c hain a nd g uide b ar
will b e r educed. B efore s tarting w ork c heck t he o il l evel i n t he
tank and the oil feed.
Check t he o il f eed r ate a s d escribed b elow:
Start t he c hain s aw ( see " Starting t he e ngine").
Hold t he r unning c hain s aw a pprox. 6 " ( 15 c m) a bove a t runk
or t he g round ( use a n a ppropriate b ase).
If the lubrication is sufficient, you will see a light oil trace
because o il w ill b e fl ung o ff t he s awing d evice. P ay a ttention
to t he d irection t he w ind i s b lowing a nd a void u nnecessary
exposure to the oil spray!
Note:
After the saw has been turned off it is normal for residual
chain o il t o d rip f rom t he o il f eed s ystem, t he g uide b ar a nd
the chain for a time. This does not constitute a defect!
Place t he s aw o n a s uitable s urface.
Adjusting t he c hain l ubrication
The e ngine m ust b e s witched o ff!
You can adjust the oil pump feed rate with the adjusting
screw (1). T he a djusting s crew i s o n t he b ottom s ide o f t he
housing.
The o il p ump c omes f actory-­set t o a m inimum f eed r ate. Y ou
can set the chain oil feed rate to minimum and maximum
feed rate.
To a djust t he s upply r ate, u se a s mall s crewdriver t o t urn t he
adjusting s crew:
• to t he r ight f or a f aster
• to t he l eft f or a s lower
oil feed rate.
Pick one of the two settings depending on the length of the
guide b ar.
While working make sure there is enough chain oil in the tank.
If necessary, add oil.
To e nsure t roublefree o peration o f t he o il p ump t he o il g uide
groove at the crank case (2) a nd t he o il i nlet b ore i n t he g uide
bar ( 3) m ust b e c leaned r egularly.
