only) As you enter each
byte of the encryption
key, it is checked by the
KVL 3000 for validity. If
you enter an invalid num
ber, WRONG PARITY will
flash in the display, and
the invalid entry is ig
nored. Continue with the
entry. (For non DES keys)
Encryption key validity is
checked only after entire
key is entered and Enter
key is pressed.
Note A LID will be auto
matically generated if this
key does not require entry
of a 4 digit LID.

5. Use the key to select ACCEPT. The
following screen will appear.

6. Enter the encryption key using the
keypad. The specific byte number is
displayed as you enter the key numbers.
When finished, the following screen will
appear:

7. Press the Enter key. If the LID prompt is
turned off (see page 3-18), the following
screen will appear to confirm your entry.
If the LID prompt is turned off, skip to
step 8.
