Multiple command and send
18.4.2.2
Application
The IED provides two function blocks enabling several IEDs to send and receive signals via the
interbay bus. The sending function block, MULTICMDSND, takes 16 binary inputs. LON enables
these to be transmitted to the equivalent receiving function block, MULTICMDRCV, which has 16
binary outputs.
18.4.2.3
Setting guidelines
Settings
The parameters for the multiple command function are set via PCM600.
The Mode setting sets the outputs to either a Steady or Pulsed mode.

SPA communication protocol
18.5.1
Application
SPA communication protocol is an alternative to IEC 60870-5-103, and they use the same rear
communication port.
When communicating with a PC connected to the utility substation LAN via WAN and the utility office
LAN (see Figure 193), and when using the rear optical Ethernet port, the only hardware required for
a station monitoring system is:
Optical fibers from the IED to the utility substation LAN
PC connected to the utility office LAN
