Running the machine with the safety override switch activated can lead to dangerous situations.
Use extreme caution when activated.

When the safety override switch is activated, it is possible to open the shell doors with the High
Voltage Unit alive.

An activated safety override switch will allow the shell doors to be open even if the beam is on.
This leads to exposure of increased levels of X-radiation (composed of X-rays).

The safety override switch (1), operated by a key, is located behind
the side panel (2) of the control cabinet.
This key is not delivered with the machine since the safety switch
shall be handled by Arcam Field Service Engineers (FSE) or persons
with appropriate knowledge, i.e. people approved by Arcam through
training in advanced troubleshooting, only. Violation can result in
safety risks since the safety switch controls on/off for interlocks.
However, if the key is delivered with the machine (due to an agree-
ment or an earlier version of the machine) the user must be aware of
the safety risks stated in this document.
The switch deactivates selected parts of the safety system:
• Chamber cabinet back door interlocks
• Control cabinet back door interlocks
• Light curtain
When the switch is activated and the high voltage (HV) contactor is
enabled a beep sound and a flashing red light will be activated to
alert personnel close to the machine.
When moving the rake and/or Z actuator with the switch active, it is
only possible to jog the two drives, not to move stepwise.
