5 Common Faults and Troubleshooting Measures
Solution
1. Open the front panel and check whether the
green Phoenix terminal of the controller is
connected properly. If not, power off the
equipment and reinstall the terminal.
2. If the terminal is normal, check whether the
voltage of the ATS drive terminal JXX is around
208 V. If the voltage is abnormal, check whether
the drive input fuse is connected, whether the
voltage on the fuse is normal, and whether either
of the two contactors is closed. If a contactor
does not work properly, replace it with a new one.
The replacement procedure is as follows:
1) Open the front door of the PDF, turn the PDF
output switch to OFF, and turn off the upstream
and downstream switches. 2) Remove the
protective panel from the PDF. 3) Switch off the
power circuit breaker QFX of the contactor. 4)
Remove all cables from the contactor and label
the cables. 5) Remove the faulty contactor. 6)
Install the new contactor. 7) Reinstall the cables
and tighten the screws. 8) Reinstall the protective
panel for the PDF. 9) Turn on the upstream switch
and output switch of the PDF. 10) Switch on the
contactor power circuit breaker QFX. 11) Check
that the new contactor works properly. 12) Turn
on the downstream switch of the PDF.
3. If the voltage is normal, use a multimeter to
check whether the fuse on the ATS is normal. If
the fuse is abnormal, replace it with a new one
and power on the equipment to check whether
the fault is rectified.
4. If the fault persists after fuse replacement and
power-on, remove the fuse and check whether
the fuse is disconnected again. If the fuse is
disconnected, remove the cover from the ATS and
check whether the drive board is burnt.
5. If the fuse is not disconnected, replace the 8D
controller by following
equipment and check whether the fault is
rectified.
6. If the alarm persists, power off the equipment
and replace the ATS. The replacement procedure
is as follows:
1) Open the front door of the PDF, turn the PDF
output switch to OFF, and turn off the upstream
and downstream switches. 2) Remove the
protective panel from the PDF. 3) Remove the
ATS controller by following
