5 Common Faults and Troubleshooting Measures
Solution
1. Ask the customer to disconnect the power supply,
turn off the cable inlet switch, remove the
protective panel from the PDF, and use a
multimeter to check whether there is voltage in
the PDF.
2. Prepare a spare ATS 8D controller.
3. Negotiate with the customer about the power-off
time and replace the 8D controller. The
replacement procedure is as follows:
1) Open the front door of the PDF, turn the PDF
output switch to OFF, and turn off the upstream
and downstream switches. 2) Remove the
protective panel from the PDF. 3) Remove the
cables from the top of the ATS controller and
label the cables. 4) Loosen the knob on the left of
the ATS controller and pull out the controller. 5)
Install the new ATS controller. 6) Reinstall the
cables and tighten the knob. 7) Reinstall the
protective panel for the PDF. 8) Turn on the
upstream switch and output switch of the PDF. 9)
Check that the new ATS controller works properly.
10) Turn on the downstream switch of the PDF.
4. Install the new 8D controller, connect cables, and
verify the cable connections. Then power on the
equipment, verify the ATS parameter settings,
and check that alarms and information are
displayed properly on the 8D controller and ECC.
5. Close the front panel.
1. Check whether the AUTO indicator on the 8D
controller is steady green. If not, press the AUTO
button on the controller until the AUTO indicator
is steady green.
2. Check for alarms on the ATS 8D controller. If no
alarm is generated, check on the screen whether
the alarm thresholds for overvoltage,
undervoltage, overfrequency, and underfrequency
are correct. Change the thresholds to the required
values if necessary.
