Compressor Coil Check

1. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
2. Remove the VCC control; see Section 030-4.39.
3. Once the VCC control is removed, the compressor and control can be
checked. Disconnecting the 3-pronged connector (Figure 030-73, Item 1)
exposes the 3 coils. See Figure 030-74.

4. Check the resistance between any two coils. All readings should be the
same (approximately 16Ω, +/-0.5Ω).
5. Check the resistance between each coil and ground to verify that no

operated via the electronic inverter.
Direct activation with supply voltage
will destroy the compressor winding.
