Checking the Rear Wheel
Toe-In
Service Interval: Every 1,000 hours—Check the rear
wheel toe-in.
1.
Rotate the steering wheel to position the rear
wheels straight ahead.
2.
Loosen the jam nut on each end of the tie rod
(Figure
63).
Note:
The end of the tie rod with the external
groove is a left-hand thread.

To pivot the wheels, rotate the tie rod to by
turning it at the wrench flats

Measure the distance between the front of the
rear wheels and between the rear of the rear
wheels at axle height.
Note:
When the wheel alignment is correct,
you should measure 6 mm (1/4 inch) or less
between the front of the wheels and between
the rear of the wheels.

Repeat steps

between the front and rear is 6 mm (1/4 inch)
or less.

Tighten the jam nut on each end of the tie rod

Cooling System Safety

Swallowing engine coolant can cause poisoning;
keep out of reach from children and pets.
Discharge of hot, pressurized coolant or touching
a hot radiator and surrounding parts can cause
severe burns.
– Always allow the engine to cool at least 15
minutes before removing the radiator cap.
– Use a rag when opening the radiator cap, and
open the cap slowly to allow steam to escape.
