canister and close the vent screw at the top of
the canister mount.

Priming the Fuel System

Prime the fuel system under the following conditions:
Before starting the engine for the first time.
If you run out of fuel and then add new fuel to the
system.
After performing maintenance to the fuel system,
such as changing the fuel filter, draining the water
separator, or replacing a fuel-system component.
To prime the fuel system, rotate the key switch to the
O
position for 10 to 15 seconds to allow the electric
N
fuel pump to prime the fuel system.
Important:
Do not use the starter motor to crank
the engine to prime the fuel system. You will
damage the starter motor.
Replacing the Fuel-Water
Filter
Service Interval: Every 500 hours
Important:
Replace the fuel filter canister
periodically to prevent wear of the fuel injection
pump plunger or the injection nozzle, due to dirt
in the fuel.

Place a clean container under the fuel filter
canister

Clean the area around the fuel filter and filter
head
