Cause
Brake chopper IGBT temper-
ature exceeded internal
warning limit.
The I/O built in/extension
module is not connected to
the device properly.
Status of mechanical brake
acknowledgment is not as
expected during brake
open.
Cyclical communication
between drive and fieldbus
adapter module A or
between PLC and fieldbus
adapter module A is lost.
Communication lost in em-
bedded fieldbus (EFB).
Communication lost
between control panel or
PC tools and drive.
Maintenance timer limit ex-
ceeded.
Analog signal is beyond
limits.
What to do
Let chopper cool down. Check ambi-
ent temperature, cooling fan, air flow,
cabinet cooling, resistor overload
protection function settings, chopper
resistor value, braking cycle and sup-
ply voltage.
Make sure that the I/O built in/exten-
sion module is connected to the
device.
Check mechanical brake connection.
Check mechanical brake settings in
parameter group 44 Mechanical brake
control.
Check that acknowledgment signal
matches the actual status of brake.
Check the status of fieldbus commu-
nication and cable connections.
Check the status of the fieldbus mas-
ter and cable connections to the EIA-
485/X5 terminals 29, 30 and 31 on the
control unit.
Check PC tool or control panel connec-
tion. Disconnect and reconnect the
control panel.
Replace the drive cooling fan. Para-
meter 05.04 Fan on-time counter
shows the running time of the cooling
fan.
Check the signal level, input wiring,
and the defined limits.
