20. Remove the hairpin cotter connecting the speed
control linkage to the pivot pulley plate assembly.
21. Remove the extension spring from the housing.
22. Slide the speed control linkage from the pivot pulley
plate assembly.

23. Place the unit back onto the broom housing.
24. Remove the retaining ring from both sides of the
housing and slide the nylon bushing off the pivot
pulley plate shaft.

25. Tilt the pivot pulley assembly to release the traction
belt tension and remove the belt from the traction
pulley.
