FREQUENCY
DISTRIBUTION TABLE
The frequency distribution t,able is a table show-
ing the number of occurrences of each of several
classes which represent the range of a given
variable. A representation of a frequency distri-
bution by means of rectangles whose widths
represent classes and whose heights represent the
corresponding frequencies is called a histogram.
This program outputs a frequency distribution
table and the associated histogram on a plotter-
printer (FP-101 lPL).
1. Starting the program

When the program is started, it displays some simple explanatory messages. Press any
key on the keyboard; the program asks for the method of data input. If you wish to
input data from the keyboard, press the K key. If you wish to input data from tape,
press the T key.
2. Inputting data from the keyboard
If you press the K key, input the title first. Because of space limitations, the title must
not exceed 15 characters in length. The program then displays the prompt "N0.1
- - > . "
Input data in response to the prompt.
If incorrect data is input, press the "-" key and the program returns to the previous
input. You can then input the correct data. Pressing the E key terminates data input.
During data input frlom the keyboard, press the CTRL and N keys simultaneously after
the title is input. This makes it possible to use the central section of the keyboard as a
ten-key keyboard, facilitating the input of numeric data. Pressing the CTRL and N
keys again resets the keyboard to its normal function.
3. Inputting data from tape
Set the REMOTE switch on the FP-200 to ON.
After pressing the T key, connect the tape recorder, set it for playback and press the
...J;
key. The input of data from the tape will start.
4. Correcting .the data
At the end of data input from the keyboard or tape, the program displays the title and
the number of data items. It then asks whether or not there is data to be corrected. If
there is data to be corrected, press the Y key. If not, press the N key. To correct data,
first input the data number
to
be 'corrected, then input the correct data. Repeat this
operation until all the data is correct. Press the N key when there is no more data to be
corrected.
