SIMULTANEOUS EQUATIONS
OF THE FIRST DEGREE
Of various mathematical operations, simulta-
neous linear equations in several variables are
used for a variety of applications. Although the
concepts and method of calculation of simulta-
neous linear equations in several variables are
simple and plain, solving those equations with
many variables is not so simple.
This program permits the FP-200 to solve simul-
taneous linear equations in several variables.

When the program is started, it asks for the number of variables in the simultaneou
linear equations. Since this program can solve simultaneous linear equations with up t
six variables, the maximum number of variables that can be specified is 6.
In order to solve simultaneous equations in n variables, it is necessary that there be
different equations. Input the coefficients and constants of the n equations. Fo
example, here are simultaneous equations in four variables .

When equation

in that order. The pro
gram then displays the prompt "OK?".
To correct the input data, press the N key. When there is no need to correct the inpu
data, press any key except the N key.
When you press the N key, the program waits for input of data from the beginnin
(A 1 ). When you press any key except the N key, the program waits for input of the
coefficients and constant of equation

When all the coefficients and constants have been input, the program immediately
starts the computation and displays the results.
Pressing the E key terminates program execution. To perform the calculation of anothe
set of simultaneous equations, press any key except the E key.
