Audio card/speakers for sound SETTING UP Use the following procedure to set up the A-10/A-11 before using it for the first time. 1. Load batteries. Load the two alkaline batteries that come with the A-10/A-11 into its main battery holder.
REPLACING BATTERIES The A-10/A-11 has a dual power supply that consists of main batteries and a back-up battery. Be sure to load the main batteries before using the A-10/A-11 for the first time after purchasing it. Also, replace batter- ies as soon as possible after they start to lose power.

6. Slide the release (both buttons) of the main battery holder towards “NORMAL OPERATION” to lock the main battery holder release. 7. If you are loading batteries into the A-10/A-11 for the first time after purchasing it, pull the insulating tape out from under the back-up battery compartment cover according to the following order.
Improper handling of batteries create the danger of fire or personal injury, as well as damage to and malfunction of the A-10/A-11. Be sure to observe the following important precautions. • Always make sure the polarity (+ and – directions) of a battery is correct when you load it into the A-10/ A-11.
Memory Reset Performing the reset operation after memory data has been corrupted clears memory contents and set- tings, and causes the welcome wizard screen to appear. Set up the A-10/A-11 in accordance with the on- screen guidance. To reset the A-10/A-11 1.
1. Open the RS-232C connector cover of the A-10/A-11. Pull out the bottom of the cover and swing it up. Next slide the cover into the side of the A-10/A-11. 2. Use the RS-232C cable to connect the A-10/A-11 to your desktop computer.
REPLACING MEMORY SLOT The memory slot of A-10/A-11 carries system ROM. When you replace it, the following steps must be followed. Note: Be sure to remove main and back-up batteries first and then replace the memory slot. Replacement of the memory slot remaining batteries makes the electrical parts inside A-10/ A-11 be defective.

6. Replace the memory slot cover and secure it in place with its screw. « 7. Insert the main battery holder into the A-10/A-11 until the holder is fully seated. And slide the release (both buttons) of the main battery holder towards “NORMAL OPERATION” to lock the main battery holder release.
MEMORY BACKUP / RESTORE Make the backup copy by HPC Explorer to your PC before repairing A-10/A-11, and restore the data from PC to user’s A-10/A-11 after repairing. For the details of Backup/Restore, refer to the operation manual of HPC Explorer.
