HEXADECIMAL
CALCULATIONS
•~Z·I·IEt,,c•rniihI:)
Performing the four basic operations, especially
multiplication and division, on hexadecimal
numbers is a tedious task.
This program permits performing the four basic
arithmetic operations on hexadecimal numbers
up to five digits.

When the program is started, it displays "PLEASE CALCULATE." It is then ready to
perform an operation on hexadecimal numbers.
For example, to calculate 7F08 + 00FF, input 7F08 + FF and press the gjkey. The
program then displays the sum, 8007.
Note that when a key which is invalid in hexadecimal notation (e.g., the G key) is
pressed, no data is input. Incorrect input data can be corrected by using the cursor key.
Note, however, that + and - cannot br corrected. (In this case, the data must be re-
input from the beginning.)
Inputting data exceeding five digits does not cause an error to be indicated, but the
result obtained is incorrect.
Subtractions, multiplications and divisions can be performed in the same manner as
described above. Note, however, that the routine to perform divisions on negative
hexadecimal numbers has been omitted because such divisions are seldom performed.
When performing the next operation, press the SPACE key after completing the
preceding operation. To terminate the program, press the BREAK key.
In divisions, digits below the decimal point are truncated.
