Signalling Setup
SIGNALLING TYPE
May be set to Loop Start (LS), Ground Start (GS) or Private Line
Automatic Ringdown (PLAR). The far-end unit interface must be
set for the same signaling type.
Note: Although the 2W FXS unit is normally used with either 86445-
41 2W FXO unit (for LS and GS applications) or 86445-3X 2W FXS
unit (for PLAR application) at the far end, it can also be used with
86444 4W VF unit when no signaling is required. This may be
utilized for VF channel testing.
TRANSMIT SIGNALLING
May be either NRML (normal) or TEST. In TEST mode the transmit
signaling bits can be forced to any condition (whether valid or not
for selected signaling type) using the TRANSMIT SIGNALLING field
in the TEST SETUP window. The selected transmit test signaling
status will also be displayed in the SIGNALLING MONITOR
window.
Note: This field must be set to NRML when not being used for test
or maintenance purposes.
RECEIVE SIGNALLING
May be either NRML (normal) or TEST. In TEST mode the receive
signaling bits can be forced to any condition (whether valid or not
for selected signaling type) using the RECEIVE SIGNALLING field
in the TEST SETUP window. The selected receive test signaling
status will also be displayed in the SIGNALLING-MONITOR
window.
Note: This field must be set to NRML when not being used for test
or maintenance purposes.
Address Data
VT# (Not Adjustable)
Displays the VT# feeding the JVT bus that the unit is on.
Note: If this field is not displayed, the NMS communication with the
respective JIF-Share unit is not established.
