7. If the MSS appears to be running, the web pages display, and all processes
(in particular, the emss process) are active, check the MSSLink program is
running on the QCS server using Windows Task Manager.
8. Check that the host file on the QCS server contains the correct IP address
of the Ethernet interface connected to the scanner, with the MSSLink alias
(usually the entry would be in the form 192.168.10.1 MSSLink).
9. Check that the MAC address in the QCS server MSS IP setup window
is all lower case.
No MSS – RAE communication
EDAQ based frame controller assembly (6580801565)
The EDAQ based frame controller assembly replaces the functionality of the Da
Vinci 4000's frame controller PCB (6580500097 or variant, depending on age of
system). Among its functions, it manages the I/O related to scanner motion:
crash, limit, and preset switches; provides direction, enable and speed signals to
the motor controller and also serves to gather other miscellaneous I/O including
scanner coolant monitoring and field I/O. You will notice that the EDAQ based
frame controller assembly includes a three position toggle switch to select between
Shop, Manual and Auto scanning modes, see Figure xx

For 4022 scanner this switch take over the function of the selection located on
scanner termination board.
