Chapter 5 - Servicing an Experion Orion Console

Cleaning the Experion Orion Console

Honeywell recommends cleaning the Experion Orion Console using
recommended cleaning products.
Three Vileda NanoTech microfiber cloths are supplied with each
console. Additional cloths can be ordered from local distributors. If
you need assistance, contact your local Honeywell representative.
The recommended Vileda NanoTech microfiber cloths have nano
particles of silver embedded within the microfiber structure. These
cloths, when dampened with plain water will clean greasy marks,
fingerprints, and dust from the alarm light panels and other console
components. When the silver gets in direct contact with bacteria and
germs, it kills them efficiently (99.9% bacteria or germs removal when
wiping surfaces - certified by BMA), preventing bacterial growth and
build-up. There is no growth of bacteria or germs on the cloths and
the effect does not fade away when the cloths are washed.
Cleaning the Alarm Panel
Aerosol or chemical cleaners should never be used on the acrylic
alarms panels as they will leave unsightly marks and scratches that
may not be able to be removed. Spray and aerosol may damage
nearby electronic monitors or other sensitive equipment on the
consoles. Chemical cleaners may damage and discolor the acrylic and
its special abrasion resistant coating.
Only lint-free, water-dampened, microfiber cloths should be used for
cleaning the acrylic alarm light panels. Paper towels, household
dusters, and other cloths are likely to scratch the surface and may
leave fiber residue. Honeywell recommends only using microfiber
cloths with embedded nano particles of silver for cleaning the acrylic
alarm light panels. After extensive testing, the recommended cloths
provide the best results for removing grease, fingerprints, and dirt
from the alarm light panel without creating smudges or scratches.
Cleaning the monitors
The monitor manufacturer's instructions should be followed when
cleaning monitors on the consoles. In many cases, the Honeywell
recommended microfiber cloths used for cleaning the acrylic alarm
light panel can also be used for cleaning the monitors, as well as
removing bacteria.
