End Gears
The end gears must be correctly setup for power
feed, threading, and pitch turning operations. Use
the photo below to identify the upper, middle, and
lower change gears, which are also referenced on
the headstock feed and threading charts.
The following subsections explain how to configure
the end gears.
Note: When configuring end gears, make sure
they mesh with 0.002–0.004" backlash, or "play".

Inch Threading Configuration
Install the 120/127T combo gear in the middle
position with the 127T gear facing the headstock.
Install the 32T gear in the upper position and
mesh with the 127T gear. Install either the 48T,
46T, or 52T gear in the lower position and mesh
with the 127T gear (see Figure 67).
