Test a Network Connection

The Ping app provides a GUI-based version of the traditional command line ping
utility. Pinging sends out an echo request to a specific computer on the network.
Use Ping to verify communication links or to make sure a specific address is work-
ing.
1. Tap All Apps > Ping.
2. Type the destination IP address in the box.
3. Tap Ping. The results appear in the lower half of the screen.

View Network Adapter Information

The IPConfig app displays, releases, and renews IP parameters for on-board net-
work adapters. Use IPConfig to view information on the network adapters including
the MAC address, IP address, netmask, gateway, and DHCP settings.
1. Tap All Apps > IPConfig.
2. From the AdapterInfo screen, touch the box under Adapter.
3. Select one of the integrated network adapters installed in the computer from

the drop-down menu.
