SRS Indicator Light Circuit Troubleshooting - '00 Model w i t h o u t Side
Airbags
The SRS Indicator Light Comes On for t h e
Bulb Check, Goes Off, then Comes Back On
After Self-Diagnosis, but no DTCs are stored
(NEC SRS u n i t only)
1. Erase the DTC m e m o r y (see page 23-45).
2. T u r n the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the
SRS indicator light comes on for about 6 seconds
and then goes off.
Does the SRS indicator light come on?
YES —Go t o step 3.
NO—Intermittent failure, system is OK at this t i m e .
Go t o Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures (see
page 23-45).
3. Check for a b l o w n No. 1 (15A) fuse in the driver's
under-dash fuse/relay box.
Is the fuse OK ?
Y E S - G o t o step 11.
N O - G o t o step 4.
4. Replace the fuse. Turn the ignition switch O N (II),
and check that t h e fuse doesn't blow.
Is the fuse OK ?
YES—Intermittent failure, system is OK this t i m e .
G o t o Troubleshooting Intermittent failures (see
page 23-45).
N O - G o t o step 5.
5. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
6. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and w a i t f o r
3 minutes.
7. Disconnect the driver's and front passenger's
airbag connectors.
8. Disconnect SRS unit connector A (18P) f r o m the
SRS unit.
