Test
Hazard when using explosive media
(e. g. petrol).
Burns and injuries.
Never use petrol or similar explosive media.
Use only clean test oil to ISO 4113 for
testing test nozzle holder assemblies.
Use only clean test oil to ISO 4113 for
testing engine nozzle holder assemblies.
Risk of injury from high pressures!
The nozzle spray will penetrate deep into
the flesh of a finger or hand and destroy the
tissue. The medium absorbed into the blood
can cause blood poisoning.
Keep hands away from nozzle spray!
CAUTION – Sudden abrupt upward move-
ment of pump lever!
Risk of injury from uncontrolled release of
pump lever.
Only release the pump lever at the upper
stop.
Do not move the pump lever with oily
hands.

Visual inspection
Check the pressure lines and the nozzle for mechanical
damage before testing the nozzle and holder.

Opening pressure
!
When the pressure gauge is switched on, allow the
pressure to build up slowly, and more importantly
escape slowly, as otherwise the pressure gauge may
be damaged.
i
The opening pressure is stated in the engine's
operating instructions and is to be set accordingly. In
isolated cases, the opening pressure have impacted
on the nozzle holder.
Measuring the opening pressure:
1. Open shutoff valve on the pressure gauge by ½ a
rotation.
2. Slowly move hand-operated lever downwards (ap-
prox. 0.5 stroke/s).
3. During the pumping operation, observe the pressure
at which the pressure gauge pointer stops (nozzle
does not chatter) or at which the pressure suddenly
falls (nozzle chatters).
"
The maximum pressure reached is the opening pres-
sure.
If the pressure deviates from the specified opening
pressure, either the setting screw must be twisted (loo-
sen locknut, adjust, retighten) or shims must be used.
i
If thicker shims are used the opening pressure incre-
ases, thinner shims will serve to reduce the opening
pressure.
