10.5 Forming the DC-link capacitors

Danger to life due to electric shock when using unsuitable fuses
If unsuitable fuses are used, an electric shock can cause severe injury or death.
• Use only fuses specified in the spare parts list.

Replacing the IOP

1. Bring the equipment into a no-voltage condition.
2. Open the cabinet.
3. Disconnect the power supply and communications cable at the operator panel.
4. Release the fixing elements for the operator panel.
5. Remove the operator panel.
6. Install a new operator panel.
7. Carry out the remaining work in the inverse sequence.

Forming the DC-link capacitors
Description
After a service life of more than a year, the DC-link capacitors must be reformed. If this is not
done, the unit could be damaged when it is operated under load.
If commissioning occurs within a year after manufacture, the DC-link capacitors do not need
to be reformed. The date of manufacture is indicated in the serial number on the type plate
(see Type plate (Page 29).
Note
Storage period
It is important that the storage period is calculated from the date of manufacture and not from
the date when the equipment was shipped.
